Our home is in the coastal rainforest of southern Costa Rica. It is a place sublime beauty and unspoiled nature. Toucans regularly fly around and feed in the trees just outside of my studio. When I was recently searching for a new painting idea, I considered the age-old advice to writers and artists: paint what’s around you, write what you know. And so came this vision – the inspired toucan. With a crest made of brushes and dripping paint upon the mushroom caps (which perhaps are simultaneously for food and further inspiration), he spreads his creativity upon the world.
