This painting was commissioned to hang as part of the curated art collection for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. There was not a lot of direction given for the idea. Playful. Animals. That was about it. This was the end result of my daydreaming on those two words. A life of gentle balance. Watch and learn, little critters. Watch and learn. There is something uniquely special about creating a piece for a children’s hospital. The knowing that it may bring a smile or laugh to a child or parent on days where sadness or fear have left little room for delight. I am thankful for this opportunity, and as a result, perhaps poured even more love into this painting than I typically do.
